Ashbeck, Richard (1917 - 1983)
Funeral services for Richard Ashbeck, 65, of 327 N. Reese St.,
Greenwood, Clark County, were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday,
June 21, 1983, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood.
Mr. Ashbeck died of an apparent heart attack at his home, Saturday
morning, June 18, 1983.
Officiating at the service was Rev. Michael Mertens. Burial was in
St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwood, with Leonard Lobner, Roy, Vernon,
Ronald and Robert Ashbeck and Ed Stashek serving as pallbearers.
Rinka Funeral Home, Greenwood, handled arrangements.
An 8 p.m. Prayer Service and and 8:30 p.m. Knights of Columbus
Rosary were said on Monday evening.
Richard Ashbeck was born to Joseph and Rose (nee Linhart) Ashbeck
on Sept. 3, 1917, in Milladore. He received his education at
Milladore Schools.
He was married to Jane Gilbertson at St. Mary's catholic Church,
Neillsville. He owned and operated the Hemlock Cheese Factory for
37 years, until retiring in 1982.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Knights of
Columbus and Our Lady of Fatima Council.
Surviving him are his wife, June three sons, Richard, Jr. of Edgar,
Rodger of Greenwood and Roderick of Greenwood one daughter, Mrs. Ed
(Linda) Volovsek of Willard four brothers, Leo of Echo, Ore.,
Edward of Auburndale, Ray of Marshfield and Alfred of Auburndale
one sister, Mrs. Rose Stashek of Junction City and 12
grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents three brothers and two sisters.
